A long time ago in
this world lived a crazy
group of people who knew th' destruction that this world causes on a
man's spirit. They knew that if you let th' world have it's way with
you it would leave you beaten, broken and alone. Left for dead. With
nothing but a memory of your former self. And they knew, tho mostly in
th' back of their minds, of a life beyond this world. A life of true
freedom. A life lived amongst men, yet flowing straight from th' rivers
of eternity. A life where men are born, yet none die. These men and
women lived as pirates on earth. Taking th' things of this world which
were redeemable, and giving to th' spirit of truth. And still today,
there be...PIRATES
AMONG US...

So who are the pirates among us? Well, if you click on th' picture of my jolly friend above, you will be taken to a list of links to fellow pirates websites. Only i'm not talking about th' controversial downloading of copyrighted music, nor th' guys that showed up in th' big boat to steal your rum and your girlfriend. But rather, i'm talking about those who've decided that this world is not what it was intended to be, by you me or anyone else; and who, out of that realization, have decided to no longer participate in it's madness. Some have decided to take to nomadic lifestyles. Some have decided to renounce everything that they own and embark on a quest to find out what's really important. Some have simply decided that th' world's screwed up and they don't know what to do with it. Many have taken to the idea of community, living together, working together, eating together, growing food together, creating art together, sitting around doing nothing- together. So follow th' links and check some of these guys out. It is by no means a complete list, just people we know of. And perhaps you should be added to it. At any rate, they may be able to explain their piracy better than i, and every pirate has his own particular treasure that he's seeking...
But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, "You know that those who are
considered rulers
over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise
authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but
whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
And whoever of you desires to be first shall be servant of all.
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and
to give His life a ransom for many."
