Linen Gypsy "Smoking" Jacket
(Danny, our drummer cristened this style of jacket a "smoking jacket"- i'm not even sure why. It might be that it makes him think of gypsies sitting around in lounges and drinking and smoking cigars?...) This light weight jacket is made from a chocolate brown linen/rayon blend. It has 2 fully lined front pockets made from assorted patchwork: the chocolate brown; a linen woven with magenta & orange; a cotton woven with purple, orange, blue, green, yellow and magenta tinsel; and a midnight blue velour. On the backs of the sleeves are elbow patches made from some same fabric as the pockets. Fastening the jacket together are 2 big abalone buttons. The button holes have been meticulously stitched with brown thread. Cuffs and collar are both fully lined. The jacket is darted twice in the front for a perfect fit. All seams are either lined or zig-zag or wrap-around stitched so there be no raw edges. YARR! Chest area is about 38" around. Waist area is about 34" around, when buttoned. From armpit to bottom hem of jacket is 13 1/2". Sleeves are 22 1/2" from shoulder to cuff and are narrow- about 10 1/2" around at elbow and 10" around at cuff. Jacket is about 22 1/2" from mid-shoulder to bottom hem. Wash linen in cold water on gentlest cycle possible and hang to dry. $ 55
